Rookie-led Adamson Falcons soar to Quarterfinals of 10th FilOil Premier Pre-Season Cup

The Adamson Soaring Falcons rallied to take down the pesky UE Red Warriors, 84-82, and secure the last quarterfinals seed of the FilOil Pre-Season Cup earlier this afternoon at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Rookie Fil-Am playmaker Rob Manalang towed the Falcons' offense with 21 points, 18 of which came from the three-point line. Papi Sarr finished with 17 points and 18 rebounds, while Frederick Tungcab added 16 points.

Despite trailing throughout the game, the Red Warriors mustered a comeback in the third quarter through the collaborative efforts of Pasaol and Batiller. After the Recto-based squad’s comeback, the squads exchanged leads and deadlocks until the final moments of the game. Luckily, Adamson's efficient free throw shooting and timely three-pointers built enough cushion to stave off the Red Warriors.

The Adamson Soaring Falcons, who finished the group phase with a 4-3 record, will face the National U Bulldogs, who topped their group with a 6-1 slate, on Tuesday, June 7, 1:30 p.m at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
