Falcons crash down against DLSU

In the highly-anticipated match against the De La Salle Green Archers, the Adamson Soaring Falcons suffered a huge loss, 75-91, Saturday afternoon, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Adamson relied on Jerrick Ahanmisi and Rob Manalang for their offense as they finsihed with 22 and 15 points, respectively. Papi Sarr had 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Soaring Falcons struggled to find their rhythm offensively as DLSU's pesky defense smothered the Falcons all game long. However, it was DLSU's rebounding superiority that hurt Adamson most. Led by the beastly Ben Mbala, DLSU hauled in 54 rebounds, while Adamson only had 32 boards.

Adamson used their three-point shooting to trim DLSU's lead, which at one point grew as much as 19 midway in the game. Adamson tried to spur a run in the third quarter through Manalang and Ahanmisi's shooting. The Falcons managed to trim their deficit to 11, 50-61 but that was the closest they could get. DLSU's disruptive defense and control in the paint extinguished and offense from the Falcons.

Adamson never gained enough momentum to stage a comeback.
