Soaring Falcons fall fifth place after loss to the Fighting Maroons

Adamson Soaring Falcons suffered their second consecutive defeat in the second round of the UAAP Season 79 Men’s Basketball Tournament against UP Fighting Maroons, 66-70, last October 12

at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

Falcons controlled the pace of the first period as they ended with 11-point lead over the Maroons, 20-9. But Falcons seemed to have lost control of their rhythm when the Maroons stole the momentum until the final quarter.

With King Maroon Jose Manuel’s relentless shooting, Papi Sarr and Rob Manalang’s combined baskets were not enough for the Falcons to stage a comeback.

Sarr and Manalang scored 18 points and 10 points respectively.

Adamson now holds a 4-5 win-loss record, falling fifth place on the table. The Soaring Falcons will next be facing the Ateneo Blue Eagles on October 16, 4 PM, at FilOil Arena, San Juan City.
